About these terms

CozyHaus is an app for iPhone and iPad made by Third Floor Studios, a studio in the Netherlands registered with the Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 42027191, VAT id NL005439912B63, at De Fluessen 22, 8939 BE Leeuwarden, the Netherlands. You can reach us at support@cozyhaus.app. In these terms, “we” and “us” means Third Floor Studios, and “you” means the person using CozyHaus.

By downloading or using CozyHaus you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the app. How we handle data is explained in our privacy policy.

Your license

CozyHaus is licensed to you, not sold. Your license to use it is Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). These terms add what is specific to CozyHaus. If something here conflicts with the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA wins.

All the art, words, sounds and code in CozyHaus belong to us or to those who licensed them to us. You may use them inside the app, for yourself and your home.

Using CozyHaus

• CozyHaus runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later and on iPad with iPadOS 17 or later. Using it needs an Apple or Google account, and each person needs their own iPhone or iPad and their own account.
• You save your home with Sign in with Apple or Google. Please keep that account safe, because whoever can sign in to it can open your home. Your home is kept on your phone and on our server, as explained in the privacy policy. You can delete your account in the app at any time.
• CozyHaus is made for grown-ups sharing a home. It is not directed at children under 13. If you are not old enough where you live to agree to terms like these yourself, please ask a parent or guardian to agree for you.
• CozyHaus helps you plan and share chores. Its guides and reminders are suggestions; use your own judgement, especially with cleaning products, tools and anything that could be unsafe.

CozyHaus Plus

CozyHaus is free for everyone at home. CozyHaus Plus is an optional plan that adds more choice, such as the full shop, room for more people and a second home, Apple Calendar sync, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and more music.

Plans and prices

• Monthly: 4.99 USD or 4.99 EUR a month, renewing every month.
• Yearly: 39.99 USD or 39.99 EUR a year, renewing every year.
• For life: 79.99 USD or 79.99 EUR, paid once. No renewals.

Prices may vary by country. The App Store shows your price, in your currency, before you buy.

One plan for the whole home

Anyone in a home can buy Plus with their own Apple Account, and everyone in that home gets it. It is billed only to the Apple Account of the person who buys it; the others never pay. Plus is bought through Apple’s in-app purchase, and Apple’s terms for purchases apply.

Renewing and cancelling

• Monthly and yearly plans are subscriptions. They renew automatically and are charged to your Apple Account at the start of each new period, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• To manage or cancel, open Settings on your iPhone or iPad, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• When you cancel, Plus stays on until the end of the period you paid for. After that, Plus rests: everything you made stays, and Plus tools wait until someone turns Plus back on.

The free Plus week

CozyHaus may give your home a free week of Plus, once per person. It needs no payment, it is not a subscription and there is nothing to cancel; when the week ends, Plus simply rests unless someone in the home chooses a plan.

Refunds

Apple handles all payments, so refund requests go to Apple, under Apple’s terms. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com. This includes any right you have under EU law to cancel a purchase within 14 days.

Stars

Stars in CozyHaus come only from caring for your home. They can’t be bought, sold or exchanged for money, and they have no value outside the app.

What you put in your home

The words you write in CozyHaus, like house notes on things, notes on the fridge, the names you choose and your own chores, belong to you. We don’t claim any rights to them. You let us store and copy them on our server only to keep your home and share it with the people in it, and we don’t read them.

When you share a home, the people in it can see and change what is in it. You are responsible for what you write and share there.

Fair use

Please use CozyHaus the way it is meant to be used: to share the care of a home. Don’t use it to:

• harass, threaten or control anyone, including the people you live with;
• share content that is unlawful or that breaks someone else’s rights;
• invite people into a home without the agreement of those who live there;
• copy, resell or reverse engineer the app, except where the law allows it;
• disturb or overload our server or Apple’s or Google’s services, or try to reach other people’s data.

Our server, updates and availability

Sharing and syncing run on our server, signing in on Apple and Google, and purchases on the App Store. We work to keep them running, but we can’t promise they are always available. Without a connection, your home keeps working on your phone and catches up later.

CozyHaus saves a copy of your home on your phone every day, and you can save one to Files at any time. We recommend keeping a copy now and then.

We keep improving CozyHaus, so features may change, be added or be removed over time. If we ever stop offering CozyHaus, we will tell you well ahead in the app, the app will keep your home on your phone for as long as it still runs, and your copies stay yours.

As it is

We work hard to make CozyHaus reliable and kind, but we provide it as it is and as available, without promises beyond what the law requires. We can’t promise it will be free of mistakes or that it will always work without interruption.

Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have as a consumer under Dutch and EU law, including your right to an app that works as described.

Limits of our liability

As far as Dutch law allows:

• we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit, or for the loss of data you could have kept with a copy;
• we are not liable for problems caused by Apple’s services, your device, or things outside our reasonable control;
• our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for CozyHaus Plus in the 12 months before the event, or 50 EUR if that is more.

These limits do not apply to damage caused by our intent or deliberate recklessness, or to anything else that Dutch law does not allow us to limit.

About Apple

These terms are between you and Third Floor Studios, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for CozyHaus or its content, and has no duty to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you, as set out in the Apple EULA.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. If we disagree about something, please write to us first; most things can be sorted out with a friendly email.

If we can’t solve it together, disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of that country and may bring a claim in its courts.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms when CozyHaus changes or the law asks us to. We will post the new version here with a new date. If a change matters, we will also mention it in the app’s update notes on the App Store. Changes never apply to a period you have already paid for.
